  • Higher tension will give you more touch and control. However, it will create smaller sweat spot, so you need to have better technique and good timing, if player can not generate fast racquet head speed or consistently hit at the sweet spot, then it will be a disadvantage using a higher tension. This is why higher tension is suitable toward more advanced players. The tension is ranging from 28lb up to the extreme of 34lb.

    Players play at club level will most likely require more sweet spot and probably won’t want to be paying for a frequent restringing cost. The sugessted tension is ranging from 24lb to 28lb.

    For beginners, probably not over 24lbs. They need to work on the technique and timing first before increasing the tension.
